i’ve always loved reading. my mom & dad were also readers and before my mom officially became a teacher, she taught me to read before a toddled into kindergarten. when we moved to the ranch 20 miles from a teeny, tiny town, reading became a pathway to other lifestyles, countries and worlds.
and, i really dig the idea of a book club. however, it is so danged tough to find time to get across town, i thought we might go with the virtual style.
also, i know how busy each of you are, living your best lives. i don’t want to do anything that gets in the way of you creating stories to bring to me in the studio. so, let’s just say this is a casual club. like, very casual.
i’ll post books i’ve read & recommend as well as suggestions from clients. if you read them, awesome and lemme know. if you don’t, that is cool too.
if you’re like me, you might get anxiety knowing you will finish a book without having your next selection lined up. i hope this list scratches that itch.
fair warning: as an esthetician, i’m naturally curious about the body’s systems and best practices for moving us toward optimum wellness. so you’ll see many, many selections on skin care, ingredients, healing, health care, nutrition, meditation, movement, hormones, body systems etc.
fear not, i have a rule that keeps some level of harmony: i require myself to read at least TWO fiction books for every non-fiction (you will actually get some variety).
lastly, i am not a reviewer. these are gonna be basic “i read it and i liked/loved/felt meh about it.” my goals are to inform, maybe entertain but not cajole.
to find your way to the Book Club posts, type Book Club into Search (in the menu bar of each page). voila!, all the Book Club posts (tho, currently there is just this one).
happy reading! the first entry into Book Club coming soon 💋🍾🥂
