Clarity: Day 6

Day 6 … ahhhh, cortisol (see today’s tipsheet). 

And guess what can help our bodies complete the fright/flight cycle?  Ahhhhhh, yes, our breath!  The 4-7-8 breath works wonders to finish the cycle allowing our parasympathetic system to come online and lowering our natural cortisol response.

Easy peasy with this calming breath exercise: empty your lungs with a loud whooshing exhale. Bring in for a count of 4. Hold this breath for 7. And breathe out for 8 through your mouth, again making that whooshing sound. Repeat 3 more times …. ahhhhhommmmmmmmm.
