A few weeks back, we got a little toasty at the beach for an afternoon … almost made it to 80! Around 3pm, I got a break in the studio and headed down Santa Monica Blvd to the water to put my toes in and regroup.
The beach was packed with folks doing just what I did: making the most of a warm day near the water.
I noticed a group of gals walking and talking. They looked great, flowing sundresses and cute hats! One of the gals subtly moved the fabric of her flowing dress to between her legs as she was walking … indicating that she was feeling the chafe.
Skin chafing is a definite downside to enjoying warmer weather. It happens in lots of places including between the thighs, on hip bones, on your tootsies, in the underarm area … and it is the pits! Chafing is not only uncomfortable, it can lead to mild callouses, raw skin and discoloration.
And what do you know, your esthie has a tip for you: put a little of your SPF in the chafe zone.
If you get SPF from me, you’re using a mineral based SPF. And, zinc and titanium are superbly soothing (they’re usually the primary ingredient in basic diaper cremes for this reason). Plus, to get these thick minerals to smoothly cover your face area, we add some wonderful, hydrating glide ingredients.
Using your SPF from be well {groomed!} to prevent chafing gives you the best in multi-tasking: you’re soothing your skin, you feel good, your skin stays smooth and you mitigate the irritation. That’s a wine-wine!
But don’t just take my word for it (even tho, well, you should): re-stock with my fave SPF’s and start treating your skin like the Queen it is.
